Im Sasso Caveoso gibt es das winzige "Museo raccolta delle acque".
Im Geburtshaus von S. Giovanni di Matera ist in einer liebevollen kleinen Ausstellung die Wasserversorgung in den Sassi dargestellt. Man kann bis in die Zisterne unter der kleinen Piazza vor dem Museum runtersteigen. Diese ist mit Leitungen mit der großen Zisterne verbunden.
Ein sehr freundliches Ehepaar, das im Nachbarfelsenhaus lebt, verwaltet das Minimuseum (15 Minuten dauert der Besuch), erteilt gerne Auskunft über alle Ausstellungsstücke (auf italienisch) und ist äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Nebenhaus verkauft der Ehemann gekühlte Getränke, günstiger als sonst in den Sassi (0.5 l gekühlter Sprudel für 80 Cent!) und gibt Tipps, von wo aus man eine tolle Aussicht hat.

In the adjoining house, the husband sells chilled drinks, cheaper than usual in the Sassi (0.5 l chilled fizz for 80 cents) and gives tips on where to get a great view from.
