Schlucht der Murgia (Matera)

Am Rand der Sassi läuft eine steile,
karge Schlucht entlang, auf deren
Grund der Fluss Gravina fliesst.

At the edge of the Sassi runs along a steep, barren gorge, on the bottom of which flows the river Gravina.

Ai margini dei Sassi corre lungo una ripida e sterile gola, sul cui fondo scorre il fiume Gravina.

Von der Panoramastrasse um die Sassi herum gibt es einen Pfad zum Grund der Schlucht, über eine Hängebrücke und hinauf zur gegenüberliegenden Höhe, von der aus man einen zauberhaften Blick auf Matera genießt. Eine wunderschöne, bei 35 Grad aber anspruchsvolle Wanderung durch die karge Schlucht der Murgia (so heisst diese Hochebene, auf der Matera und Altamura liegen).

From the panoramic road around the Sassi there is a path to the bottom of the gorge, over a suspension bridge and up to the opposite height, from where you can enjoy a magical view of Matera. A beautiful, at 35 degrees but challenging hike through the barren gorge of the Murgia (that's the name of this plateau on which Matera and Altamura are located).

Dalla strada panoramica intorno ai Sassi c'è un sentiero fino al fondo della gola, sopra un ponte sospeso e fino all'altezza opposta, da dove si può godere di una magica vista su Matera. Una bella escursione a 35 gradi ma impegnativa attraverso l'arida gola della Murgia (questo è il nome di questo altopiano su cui si trovano Matera e Altamura).
